She Who Waits;

She Who Waits, Also Serves

One of my biggest things is nothing shy of being a Marines girlfriend. In the world of the military, The Silent Ranks are we. although most of us aren't so silent and we clearly express ourselves and we can have quite a temper, we are none the less, a member of the Silent Ranks. But its been brought to my attention that those who have nothing to do with the military, don't recognize the military women/men, or those who stand amoung the Silent Ranks. It really annoys me sometimes. Because, we do a lot. We're the ones left behind. I've heard the Silent Ranks referred to as "The Homefront Heroes" Class A or Class B, none the less, were here. And all over the country. & a lot of people don't even know it.
We strut our mens branch, not really our own, we boast at how proud we are of our men, but we leave ours alone. we recognize them, more than ourselves, and thats part of being in the Silent Ranks.

The United States Of America - Flag

seeming to me, it turns out a lot of people don't actually know the rules/code of the flag. so, because i care, Go Here to learn/read about the rules.

it explains everything you need to know about respecting the flag, how to properly display it whether the union should be in the left or right, things like that. how no writing should be placed upon the flag, and the rules of how a flag is to be placed according to other flags. things like that. its a good site.

if you don't already know this stuff, go read it. because you should know.

"The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing." - United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1 Section 8j

that, is the reason the rules and codes of the flag, should be known and understood.

She Who Wears A Yellow Ribbon

those who wear a yellow ribbon, typically know whats up. most of the time, they are somehow connected to some part of the military. majority of those who wear the yellow ribbon, are significant others.

she who wears a yellow ribbon, faces hardships day in, and day out.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, understand, that she comes in second.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, is strong. shes brave. she is a different breed of women. any two people can make a relationship. it takes a strong woman however, to make a relationship, with a man in the military, work. it takes effort. it takes determination. its harder than hell.
the distance, the time difference, the constant worry, the not knowing, the fright. the military can make or break a relationship. it takes the strongest women, to survive. it isn't a world for weak women.

its putting on a smile, when you know the day is unseen. you have no idea what can happen. a lot can happen in one day in the states, but a hell of a lot more can happen in a day overseas. not knowing, can really put stress on a relationship, along with waiting so long just to see the one, the one who has the strength and courage that most men dont have. they go to places other people will dare not go. and seeing their face, or talking to them, is worth more than anyone will ever know. outside the military world anyway. ask any military SO, and it will be told how cherished those few minutes are.

me, im lucky. i get to talk to my marine, almost, every. single. day. the only times i dont, is when hes out on missions and doesnt get the chance too. otherwise, everyday i get him. not a lot of other girls get that. the letters that take two weeks to come, those are what they hold onto. talking to them, is cherished. its all some have.

she who wears a yellow ribbon, is strong.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, is brave.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, saracfices more than its recognized.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, worries daily.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, sleeps with her phone in her hand, just in case.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, fridays are her favorite, because she can support red fridays.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, represents the silent ranks.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, waits. a lot.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, also serves.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, is the strongest of girls in the world.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, has a band of sisters who have her back.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, cherish every "i love you"
she who wears a yellow ribbon, hates the "D" word. (deployment)
she who wears a yellow ribbon, have more fustrations than most know.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, can pretend better than you think she can.
she who wears a yellow ribbon, loses a lot of patience with civilians
she who wears a yellow ribbon, will surround herself with people who are going to support her.

she who wears a yellow ribbon, will NEVER stop wearing that ribbon.
